New Silmarillion picture ideas
I can’t seem to stop. O_o
Maglor and Maedhros after the latter’s rescue.
And one that I’ve been wanting to (re)do for years – the Prophecy of the North.
“Tears unnumbered ye shall shed; and the Valar will fence Valinor against you, and shut you out, so that not even the echo of your lamentation shall pass over the mountains. On the House of Fëanor the wrath of the Valar lieth from the West unto the uttermost East, and upon all that will follow them it shall be laid also. Their Oath shall drive them, and yet betray them, and ever snatch away the very treasures that they have sworn to pursue. To evil end shall all things turn that they begin well; and by treason of kin unto kin, and the fear of treason, shall this come to pass. The Dispossessed shall they be for ever.”

Good! Don’t stop! :D The Prophecy of the North looks really interesting. The first idea is similar to one you’ve done before, with Maglor watching over unconscious Maedhros and rethinking his decisions from time when he ruled in Maedhros place.
Yes – I felt after 8 years it was time for a re-run. 8years is my magic marker.
I like the triptych approach; it adds to the solemnity.
Hey! Who snatched the sword?!
It’s leaning against the bed now. I felt the other one was too… ambiguous. :nuu:
I want that smiley here.
*facepalm*
Avoid ambiguities and soon there’ll be nothing left for you to draw ;-)
It wasn’t just for the benefit of dA. Out of context, it looked weird to have Maglor clutching that sword on the blankets ;)
Aww, but it’s such a beautiful sword. It seems a crying shame to hide it. Curufin will never forgive you that ;-)
I’m really looking forward to seeing the Maedhros and Maglor one finished; “Forgive Me, My Brother” is still one of my favorites of your works.
I love Eonwe’s face and figure – scary as hell…
Is that Fingolfin+Finarfin+Fingon on the left?
It is, yes. The one on the middle is Mandos, though :)
*runs to check the Silm*
*headdesks*
Sure.
Have I ever told you just how amazing you are?
^___^
Being unable to stop is a bad thing? :D
As long as you are eager to draw things inspired by Tolkien, I will be eager to get all excited over them and tell the rest of the Tolkien-loving internet just how awesome you are. So there.
Huzzah!!! More epic arts from the epic artist!!! Woot!!!

Oh, I do hope that you come back to this one and finish it. That is such a powerful scene in the Silmarillion, and you are just the artist to do it justice. :-)
Dear Jenny!
First we have to say you’re a great artist and your creation gives us a lot of inexpressible emotions for many years. Your images of the characters are extremely right. Thank you very much for what you’re doing :)
Second. Oh :) We are sorry so much that “The Prophecy of the North” scetch didn’t become a picture! Cause this is the really best Namo we’ve ever seen! Usually he’s surrounded by dead or maybe Luthien is kneeling before him on the pictures, but The Prophecy of the North isn’t popular between tolkien’s artists. And you are the first (and perhaps the only :)) who’ve painted him among the living. If we understand correctly – it’s Maedhros, Fingon and Finrod on the left and Finarfin, Fingolfin and Fëanor on the right? These characters are also very rare to come together. And each of them expresses a relation to The Words of Namo even in the sketch! Unbelievable! That highlights the power of vala and the meaning of his words. We would like to see this scene in color and details someday. Hope you’ll finish it once. It would be wonderful!
