Reply Awesome! Reply Lovely! I like the style the tartan plaid gives Beren – and as for Lúthien – is that a lace braid I see in her hair? Reply I have no idea what the hairstyle is called – I saw a student of mine with it and memorised it for later use! ;) Reply A lace braid is a braid similar to a French or a Dutch braid, in that you add hair as you braid. Unlike the other styles, you add the hair from one side only. I suppose I am a bit of a geek when it comes to hair, it comes of having hair long enough that I can sit on the ends, which makes it a necessity to know how to make nice braids and updos. :) Some pictures with examples: A couple of tutorials, showing how it is done, and what the style looks like in the end: Reply I cannot wait to see the finished product. : ) Reply I dunno if you like when fans give you advices, but I think adding verses from that beutiful Beren and Lúthien ballad from the Lord of the Rings would really bring out the maximum potential from this picture. It’s awsome though. :) Reply Much more than the verses from the Lord of the Rings I love the one from the Lays of Beleriand. “Farewell sweet earth and northern sky…” Reply Brilliant! I really like your style of drawing people. Your pictures make my day and are incredibly inspiring. I want to drop everything I am doing and start drawing myself right away!! This one is magnificent. You should definitely never stop! Reply Wow, so beautiful! Reply I am overcome by the awesome and gorgeousness!!! Reply I am excited about the finished work, Jenny. They are incredible and I am so pleased that you took the commission! The coloured versions will be more than I cold have hoped for. Vielen, Vielen Dank!
